A Holi special & kids favourite!

Shakarpare | Baatein Kadhai Se


Refined Flour/ Maida - 250 grams

Sugar - 250 grams

Ghee - 5 tablespoons

Oil for frying


Step 1 - Knead the flour with ghee & then add water and continue to knead. Divide the dough into two parts.

Step 2 - Roll both the parts like a chapati & cut it into squares or diamonds with a knife.

Step 3 - Heat oil in a wok & deep fry the squares, initially on high heat & then on a low flame, till brown & crisp.

Step 4 - In a separate wok, heat the sugar with water & make a sugar syrup of two strings.

Step 5 - Switch off the flame now & put all the fried shakarpara squares in the sugar syrup. Mix well.

Step 6 - Spread them all on a plate to cool & store in an airtight container.
